In Tony Evan's book "Called for a Purpose", he uses the analogy of preparing yourself for what God's purpose is for you to the making of a pizza. "The dough goes through a whole lot so that you and I can have the pleasure of eating it."(Evans, pg. 5) Throughout life, we have to be tossed around a bit, much like pizza dough, add some special ingredients unique to only us and intended for us, but in the end we will have what we was started when the dough began... a delicious pizza. "God is preparing you for the perfect destiny He created you to live out." (Evans, pg. 5) As I reflect upon the "special ingredients" that have been added to my life, I realize I didn't chose all the toppings that have shown up over the years. There have been "toppings" that I would have never dreamed of adding. The most recent addition of COVID could have been easily left off, however a few "good" things came from the experience of having the virus. I have found since having COVID that the people who need to be reassured, informed and comforted because of COVID have surfaced around me. I can talk to others with a background of "knowing" what it's like. I would never chose that topping again or suggest it to anyone, but the gift of being able to "sample" it, has brought me a message to share with others. My destiny is ever before me and I am grateful that the Pizza Maker knows what the best ingredients are for me. Psalm 138 & 139 carry the reassurance that you are never alone throughout the tossing and preparing process of your journey.
